Dyer Bay

*
there was too much wind and rain to see the ships sailing around the port today.

Dyer Bay was not always the destination for sailors as it had been. i watched them over time migrate from the more seasoned and local to now more of the touristy bunch.

a few years ago, there were only mariners and fisherman seeking to have their hauls offloaded. eager to make their way to the next voyage.

getting to hear about the tales from the sea was always the best part about working here

the people in Steuban seem to have more of an appreciation for a nice hardy life experience over the latest news in fashion or the most recent nuance in technology

moving from the city may have been a good thing

although not for everyone I would say

yes, i think i needed this

i have only been here for about 6 years now with the occasional trip back to Chicago to visit friends. they keep asking why i don't want to move back. i find my reasoning a bit harder to explain to them than the people at the shop.

i like selling the simple novelties
i like walking to work
i like not needing a car
i like not riding a bus
